DS Stålkonstruktion

I joined DS Stålkonstruktion straight after completing my construction management degree at AAU. I was incredibly proud to become a project manager and take responsibility for my own projects after just one year with the company. I find it motivating to work for a company that offers opportunities for personal development and responsibility.

DS Stålkonstruktion is a company that is not afraid to delegate responsibility and give its employees ownership of their work. If you show initiative, enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility, you will very quickly be given the opportunity to take the lead. That sense of ownership allows you to grow and develop.

I have worked in the steel industry since 1995 and at DS Stålkonstruktion in the DK/N rafter sales department since 1 January 2015. We work according to the principle of ‘freedom with responsibility’, which suits me very well. We have and build our own customer portfolios, but they are not so rigidly assigned that we do not help each other across the department when needed.

After more than 20 years, I am still extremely happy working for the company – with my role, the management and my colleagues. Many of us have been employed here for many years, and surely that is the best endorsement a company can receive.

From day one, I felt welcome because I was warmly received by the team. They are always ready to offer guidance, no matter how many questions I have. This has, of course, helped to make my learning process much more effective. I also think it has been easy to get to know one another across departments when we happen to meet in the canteen at lunchtime.

I expect to be at DS Stålkonstruktion for many years – or at least, I hope so. I have worked for other companies, and that experience has shown me that DS is the perfect workplace for me.
