Denmark’s first logistics building with DGNB Silver certification

DS Flexhal has completed three enormous construction projects for DSV – Global Transport & Logistics at Hedeland in Hedehusene, Zealand – an era has come to an end. It is with some sadness that we will soon say goodbye to daily life at what began as a large gravel pit in 2019. However, it is naturally also with an immense sense of pride that we are now bringing the construction projects, which have been carried out in three phases over the past four years, to a close.

The three buildings have a combined footprint of almost 179,000 square metres, and DSV Hedeland 2 and DSV Hedeland 3 were constructed with the aim of achieving DGNB Silver certification, among other objectives.

DSV Hedeland 2, covering 95,000 square metres, is the first logistics building in Denmark to achieve DGNB Silver certification. It has served as a pilot project for Green Building Council Denmark in the ‘Logistics Buildings’ category. For DS Flexhal, it is also our first completed building to receive certification.

“It has been an exciting process in which we have learnt about many new methods and solutions, while familiar processes and workflows have also now been documented. The entire project team has learnt a great deal, and through close dialogue with DGNB auditor Rikke Petrea Bandholm from DAI, we have succeeded in securing the ‘silver medal’ for DSV Hedeland 2,” says construction manager Tanja Steengaard from DS Flexhal.

Fortunately, we are continuing our successful collaboration with DSV – Global Transport & Logistics on other projects.
