Mayoral Visit to DS Stålkonstruktion: Strong Relationships Are Built Through Dialogue

At DS Gruppen, we believe that successful partnerships begin with curiosity, openness and respect for each other’s circumstances. It was therefore a great pleasure for DS Stålkonstruktion to welcome Mariagerfjord Municipality’s newly elected mayor, Jesper Skov Mikkelsen, and Chief Executive Anne Velling Christiansen on 13 May 2026.

The visit was part of the mayor’s tour of businesses in the municipality. The purpose of the tour is to gain an even better understanding of the local business community, listen to both opportunities and challenges, and strengthen collaboration between the municipality and the businesses that contribute every day to development, jobs and the local community.

Representing DS were Morten Kaad, CEO of DS Stålkonstruktion and Co-CEO of DS Gruppen; Mike Flörke, Co-CEO of DS Gruppen; Claus Barnewitz, COO and Production Director at DS Stålkonstruktion; and Tina Woods, Marketing Director at DS Gruppen.

Insight into Production

The day featured a constructive and open dialogue about collaboration, local relationships and future opportunities. Following the meeting, Claus Barnewitz gave the mayor and Chief Executive a tour of production at DS Stålkonstruktion, where they gained insight into the company’s day-to-day operations, projects and production environment.

“As mayor, it is essential to remain close to the businesses that help shape our municipality. When we meet face to face, we gain a better understanding of what is needed to create favourable conditions for businesses, employees and future local growth,” says Mayor Jesper Skov Mikkelsen.

Strong Interaction Between Business and the Local Community

For DS Gruppen, the visit is a good example of the value of strong relationships between businesses and the local community. Constructive dialogue between the municipality and businesses helps create better conditions for development, well-being and responsible growth.
