Rasmus Bertelsen did his work placement as a building constructor at DS Flexhal
Today, Rasmus is a project manager at DS Flexhal; he was taken on permanently after graduating in 2017.
For me, it was absolutely crucial to find a good work placement where I could be involved in all the project phases. As a green student, it was important to gain hands-on knowledge and acquire the mindset from the real world. You could say I got that opportunity at DS Flexhal.
There was always a colleague there with a “lifebuoy”
I was thrown into the “deep end,” and that’s how I learned to swim. You simply move faster when you know that the tasks you solve are actually going to be used for something. And I was never in doubt that an experienced colleague stood ready with good advice and a lifebuoy when needed.
Interns can also teach the “old hands” a few tricks
But as an intern, you can actually teach the “seasoned veterans” a trick or two as well. After all, we come straight from the school bench with the latest knowledge within IT and programs, etc., and it was lovely to experience that we young people were received with respect and were allowed to contribute a bit of “fresh” knowledge.
