Tanja Steengaard was on a work placement as an Architectural Technologist at DS Flexhal
Tanja Steengaard was offered a permanent position as a contract manager at DS Flexhal after completing her education.
At a matchmaking event at the school Zealand in Næstved, I met Flemming Christensen and Kasper Ramsing from DS Flexhal. At DS Flexhal, I could try it all, since, as a main contractor, they also offered that I could test my skills at construction management.
I spent all my time on the construction site
I could go in depth with many different trades/contracts, obtaining tenders, as well as daily challenges on a construction site. DS Flexhal has its own design office, so I got to try structural drawing. However, it turned out that construction management was much more interesting than I had imagined, so I spent all my time on the construction site.
Offered to cover my travel expenses
Another very important factor in my choice of work placement was the travel expense. I live on Lolland, and on a student grant (S.U.), it was a considerable expense to have to drive to various construction sites on Zealand. Here, DS Flexhal – as the only ones – offered to cover my transport expenses.
